News Reading (MNR)
Great for people...who want to develop or upgrade their news reading skills.
Purpose:
This course is designed to give you an overall understanding of how to read the news. The course is conducted in a one-to-one format over a three session period. During the course you will learn how to use your voice skilfully to deliver a variety of emotional “reads” for radio and TV (including serious, happy, light, informative, instructional angles), to develop the ability to “sight-read”, turning written words into “spoken” English and to conduct yourself confidently and professionally in a news recording session. TV playback will give you an opportunity to see yourself in action and to fine-tune your performance. Autocue reading techniques are practiced but can be dealt with in depth in a separate course if and when required.
